Goulburn #1 is a 1,400 Acre Property. It's rugged forested country with a couple of reliable watercourses. There's a couple of swimmable waterholes in Manus Creek.
You'll need a 4WD to access and to also get around the property - so lock the hubs in!
No need to bring firewood – the property has available firewood lying around the property for you to collect.
You can sight your firearms and target shoot at your campsite, of course observing all safety precautions.
Hilly. One major fire trail through the property. Suitable for 4WD only.
Winter - sub-zero (occasional snow) to low teens. Spring - 5 to mid/high teens. Summer - low teens to mid thirties. Autumn - 5 to mid/high teens
Telstra mobile service availabel on the property.
BYO everything for camping – ute, swag, tent, canopy etc. BYO food, water for drinking, beddings, lights, fuel, extra water, cooking equipment, insect repellent, sunscreen, solar camp shower, eskies and a sense of adventure!
All year around but best is Autumn and Spring
Be aware of gates on adjoining property when you transit through. Rules on the property are simple – follow and read the conditions for property access book. Common Sense – leave gates as found, no shooting at or anywhere near grazing cattle, or on ridgelines, respecting property boundaries, avoid driving on near crops and gardens.
Hunt respectfully. Take all rubbish with you to the designated area, obey any fire restrictions especially total fire bans. No hooning vehicles or motorcross bikes. Only vehicles allowed are those used in hunting.
Please avoid the following: leaving rubbish, shooting near dwellings, driving on track after rain. Over shooting (e.g. firing off a lot of shots at game) Leaving gates opened and not latching gate properly. Shooting fence posts and signs.
Owners pet hates are not respecting the neighbour's property and gates when transiting through.
Goulburn #1 was acquired around 30 years ago. Original plan was to clear and run sheep on the property, but that plan never evenutated. Primarily used for camping and hunting.
Visitors most like the properties isolation and the opportunity to harvest deer.
When the family comes along, most like bushwalking and relaxing by the campfire.
If coming up from Goulburn, I recommend Taralga. If coming from the north, Oberon. Open Roughly 0800-1700
Taralga has a small Wildlife Park with a diverse range of native and domestic species. There are a handful of cafe's, a pub, and a general store and some specialty shops (arts etc).
