SSAA OR HUNTING CLUB MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED BY ALL HUNTERS
Tilpa #1 is a 65,000 acre property offering rocky hills and open plains with scrub, semi-permanent creek and 45kms of river frontage that attracts plenty of wildlife.
Pigs, wild cats and dogs, foxes, ducks, quail and rabbits can be found and hunted here. Fishing for cod, yellowbelly and catfish is also available.
Quads, buggys, bikes and bows, fishing, clay shooting and spotlighting allowed. Dogs only with tracking collars allowed.
4WD is needed to get to the property in the wet (dirt roads) and is advisable to get around the property.
There is some patchy phone service available.
Comfortable shearers quarters accommodation that sleeps 8.
No need to bring firewood – the property has available firewood lying around the property for you to collect.
You can sight your firearms at the campsite, and you may target shoot, of course observing all safety precautions.
No trophy fees and absolutely no shooting goats or trophy goats available.
Terrain
Tipla #1 consists of diverse terrain including rocky hills/mountains with gullies and creeks, open plains and black country (flood out) with plenty of red semi scrub. There is a major semi-permanent creek running through the property and 45kms of Darling River frontage providing plenty of wildlife activity. Hunters and visitors alike enjoy the interesting and changing landscapes of this area with plenty explore and do besides hunt, including bushwalking, fishing, bird spotting, swimming, painting and relaxing fireside.

Average of 0-17 degrees in winter.
Average of 30-45 degrees in summer.
Facilities
Comfortable powered sleeping quarters that sleep 8 – 2 double beds, 6 singles, 2 showers, 1 toilet, limited air conditioning. There is also a kitchen with fridge, freezer, BBQ, oven, stovetop, pots and utensils. It is still advised that visitors bring swags, all food, fuel, and normal gear for a camping/shooting trip, including own vehicles and tyre repair kits.

The best time to book is all year.
The best time to arrive and depart are daylight hours.
Property Owners Rules
Rules on the property are simple – follow and read the conditions for property access book. Common Sense – leave gates as found, no shooting at or anywhere near grazing cattle/goats, or on ridgelines, respecting property boundaries, avoid driving on near crops and gardens. Our landscape is not your racetrack - no hooning vehicles. Hunt respectfully. Tracking collars must be worn by all dogs on the trip. Take all rubbish with you (including any that may fly off vehicles) to the designated area, obey any fire restrictions especially total fire bans.
Use channel 24 whilst on the property.
If you treat the property with respect you will be welcomed back.
*PLEASE NOTE: This property runs a goat production enterprise and under no circumstances will goats be available for hunting.
Property History and Information
The property has been held by the same family since 1978 and is one of the original properties of the area. When the family comes along with hunters, they can relax picnic, read, or use the surroundings as inspiration for art or photography. You can also enjoy the serenity and wildlife to be spotted. Plenty of bushwalking, birdwatching, fishing, creeks and swamps to explore and camp-side cooking to be enjoyed!
The owners are happy to speak to guests and help with a full run-down of the property’s features. They can usually be sought out in the evenings.
Additional Supplies
Wilcannia is 80kms away with fuel and general store with normal trading hours.
Tilpa is 45kms away and Tilpa hotel is an icon worth a visit. Donate a gold coin and write your name on the wall with all proceeds going to the Flying Doctor.

For each non-hunter attending any of our properties, it is compulsory to be covered by current comprehensive public liability insurance. This is a non-negotiable requirement and forms part of your booking contract. Similar to having travel insurance to go on holidays. This insurance is available by being a current member of an AHO, the SSAA or the Shooters Union before your booking is approved.
We also recommend current ambulance cover.
