Barraba 3 Hunting Property is located approx. 30Kms from Barraba in New South Wales Australia. You don’t need a 4wd to get to the property, but to access all areas of the property you will. Game normally found on the property are Pigs, Foxes, Rabbits with cats and hares occasionally found.
A range of hunting options are allowed including Bow Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Ferreting and Spot Lighting.
The property has flowing creeks, dams and dry river beds with the terrain undulating to hilly.
There is a long drop toilet near the campground.
Telstra mobile phone service is patchy with some areas getting service and other not.
No need to bring firewood – the property has available firewood lying around the property for you to collect.
You can sight your firearms and target shoot at your campsite, of course observing all safety precautions.
Average temperature and rainfall the property receives is in July 0 – 16 Degrees with 50mm of rain and January 17 – 30 degrees with 85 mm or rain. Averaging approx. 680mm for the whole year. It is also worth noting that the temperature can easily get down to -5 degrees and above 40 degrees.
The best time to book is all year, but even better when the crops are growing from March through to October.
If required, there are options for a paid guided hunt.
Rules on the property are simple – follow and read the conditions for property access book. Common Sense – leave gates as found, no shooting at or near stock, respecting property boundaries, avoid driving / riding on crops unless advised. Be mindful of riding close to stock. Take all rubbish with you to the designated area, obey any fire restrictions especially total fire bans.
Some interesting history on the property was in 1892 part of Cobbadah station which took in a massive section of the entire local area.
4200 Acres with Cobbadah Creek falls down the back, bordered by creeks / semi dry creeks most of the way round the property. Farming around 200 Acres of Oats with dams and troughs in most paddocks. Undulating to hilly with a fair amount of scrub.
Most visitors comment on the good views the property commands as well as noting how peaceful the whole place is. Many locals have fished on the property when they were young.
Hunters love the availability of pigs with most of the property easily accessible.
When the family comes along with hunters, they usually swim in the creek, bushwalk, go birdwatching, photography, go bike riding and visit the local towns of Barraba and Bingara. The property also has chooks often having poddy lambs and calves to feed.
Tourist attractions in the area is the location close to Kaputar National Park, Swan Rocks (4Wd only unless you access from Narrabri. Glacial Area. Ag show in the beginning of March, Horton Falls, Bird Watching, Saturday Morning Markets, Races in September, lots of boutique shops, Polka dot shoes, accessories, babes in bush homewares, frocks and locks dresses, hardware/feed stores, full gallery, 3 creeks gold mine in Upper Bingara, Upper Horton – New Years Rodeo and Camp draft, Split Rock / Coperton Dams, Frost Over Barraba in July Art Festival.
Additional Supplies can be obtained from Barraba Groceries in the IGA, Fuel – Inland Petroleum ,The corner Store for Fuel + Takeaway, Polka dot for Coffee, Queen Street Café for Takeaway, Barraba Café for Takeaway, Commercial Hotel has a bistro, Bowling Club has a Chinese bistro and the RSL club has a bistro.

For each non-hunter attending any of our properties, it is compulsory to be covered by current comprehensive public liability insurance. This is a non-negotiable requirement and forms part of your booking contract. Similar to having travel insurance to go on holidays. This insurance is available by being a current member of an AHO, the SSAA or the Shooters Union before your booking is approved.
We also recommend current ambulance cover.
You enter these properties fully aware of the risks involved and do so at your own risk.

Some properties only allow certain types of vehicles. Please check listing carefully.
Helmet and protective gear to be worn whenever operating these vehicles.
We recommend the Yassi Course or some form of accredited training be taken prior to using any bikes, quads/ATV or buggy’s on the property.
Bikes, buggy’s and Quads/ATV are to be taken onto properties entirely at your own risk.
No responsibility will be taken. Assess your own insurance for these recreational vehicles.
You release and indemnify IHP and all related parties against any claim of any kind whatsoever.
