Rolleston #1 is a 51,000-acre property offering undulating and open grassland terrain with a range and dams.
Rabbits, hare, ducks and plenty of pigs can be found and hunted here.
Quads, bikes and buggys, bows, pistols and spotlighting allowed. Dogs are not.
A 4WD is not essential. There is bitumen road until turnoff to the property ad all internal roads are of earth construction, graded and maintained to a good standard.
There is variable phone service throughout from Telstra.
2 Bedroom dunga accommodation available.
No need to bring firewood – the property has available firewood lying around the property for you to collect.
You can sight your firearms and target shoot, of course observing all safety precautions.
No trophy fees.
The property comprises good quality, easy to moderately undulating brigalow softwood scrub country. Other than the range the majority of paddocks have been pulled with a large blade ploughhead. Pigs love to forage in the well grassed paddocks on pastures of buffel and rhodes grass. They can also be found upon the range where cactus grows.
Rolleston #1 varies from minimum low 3 degree to maximum high 34 degrees. Average of 25 inches rainfall.
The accommodation is a 2 bedroom donga that is very liveable with 4 beds and several mattresses. It features a fridge, hotplates, kettle, toaster, plates, cups, and limited utensils, plus a shower and toilet. Guests will need to bring all linens, food and fuel.
The best time to book is anytime all year.
The best time to arrive is between 9am-2pm and depart the property before 5pm.
Rules on the property are simple – follow and read the conditions for property access book. Common Sense – leave gates as found, no shooting at or anywhere near grazing cattle, or on ridgelines, respecting property boundaries, avoid driving on near crops and gardens.
Hunt respectfully.
Take all rubbish with you to the designated area, obey any fire restrictions especially total fire bans. No hooning vehicles. And vehicles are to be parthieum free.
Use channel 17 on the property.
Rolleston #1 is a multi-section property has been owned for 30 years and covers 51,000 acres with the range as the natural back boundary. A road dissects 2 parts of the property that sits directly between two towns with good facilities.
The property has 30 good dams, one of which is used by the owners for waterskiing. It’s cattle property with improved grasses and a lot of blade ploughed forage country and the garin feeders for cattle attract a lot of pigs that hunters enjoy.
The accommodation is great for groups! Visitors really enjoy how good the roads are, the easy and vast terrain, and that there are toilets and showers.
When the family comes along with hunters, they can relax and swim in the dam, picnic, read, or use the surroundings as inspiration for art or photography. You can also enjoy the serenity and wildlife to be spotted. Plenty of bush-walking, bird-watching and camp-side cooking to be enjoyed!

Blackwater is a mining town with several coal mines in central Qld, whilst Rolleston is predominantly cattle country but also with a mine that has opened up for coal in the last few years.
Tourist activities include the Kullanda Ski Dam which is great for swimming, picnics and kayaking, as is Bedford Weir; Blackdown Tableland National Park and Carnarvon Gorge National Park and Wilderness Lodge for camping and gorge exploring; plus the Blackwater International Coal Centre which features a cinema, café and visitor information. There is also a helicopter and pilot based at Redrock and would be available to hire if the pilot had time available.
This property is 60km from the nearest major town centre of Backwater and 60kms to Rolleston.
Blackwater has a Woollies, Subway, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, 2 hotels, plus a Country Club and bakery.
The CountryCo is where you will find Ag supplies, fuel and several depots.
Rolleston features a limited range of supplies, general store, hotel, fuel and some Ag supplies. Shop Hours for both are usually 7-7pm and 10-10pm for hotels.
It is recommended visitors come well equipped and bring insect repellent and sunscreen in summer.

For each non-hunter attending any of our properties, it is compulsory to be covered by current comprehensive public liability insurance. This is a non-negotiable requirement and forms part of your booking contract. Similar to having travel insurance to go on holidays. This insurance is available by being a current member of an AHO, the SSAA or the Shooters Union before your booking is approved.
We also recommend current ambulance cover.
