Westmar #3 is a 10,000 acre property offering mountainous, heavily timbered country with rough terrain and some deep gullies. Pigs, Rabbits, Hare, Ducks, Foxes and Wild Dogs can be found and hunted here.
Hunters appreciate the variety of game and groups and families love this property for the remoteness, camping, fishing and tranquillity.
Quads, buggies and spotlighting allowed.
You do not need a 4WD to get to the property, but it is preferable to get around the property.
There is variable phone service in some areas.
BYO everything for camping.
No need to bring firewood – the property has available firewood lying around the property for you to collect.
You can sight your firearms and target shoot at your campsite, of course observing all safety precautions.
Westmar #3 features open downs and thick timbered forest, in fact, more than half of the property is thick scrub/forestry. There are 6 dams and Moonie River frontage.
The areas experiences 21 inches of average annual rainfall. Summer temps are up to 42 degrees and down to 0 degrees in winter.
Westmar #3 only supplies the beautiful environment in which to enjoy your experience.
BYO everything for camping – ute, swag, tent, canopy etc. BYO food, water for drinking, beddings, lights, fuel, extra water, cooking equipment, BBQ, insect repellent, sunscreen, solar camp shower, eskies and a sense of adventure!
The best time to book is all year, although winter is obviously less hot.
The best time to arrive at the property is during daylight hours.
Owner is happy to chat or leave you to yourself.
Rules on the property are simple – follow and read the conditions for property access book. Common Sense – leave gates as found, no shooting at or anywhere near grazing cattle, or on ridgelines, respecting property boundaries, avoid driving on near crops and gardens. Hunt respectfully. Take all rubbish with you to the designated area, obey any fire restrictions especially total fire bans. No hooning vehicles or motorcross bikes. Only vehicles allowed are those used in hunting.
Please avoid the following: leaving rubbish, shooting near dwellings, driving on track after rain. Over shooting (e.g. firing off a lot of shots at game) Leaving gates opened and not latching gate properly. Shooting fence posts and signs.
Use UHF / CB Channel 11.
Westmar #3 was established in the mid-1800s with the current owners acquiring it early this year.
This property is open north of the Moonie highway and mainly timbered south of the Moonie highway. There are 2.2km of river frontage on northern boundary with permanent water holes and a number of dams over the whole property.
Groups and families appreciate the remoteness, stars, river, fishing, camping and tranquillity. Camp cooking, fishing, bike riding (no motorbike around Dwellings) shooting, reading.
Opening and closing hours may vary so it is recommended that hunters do a Google Search before they arrive. This applies to service stations and supermarkets too.
It is recommended visitors come well equipped and bring insect repellent in summer.
For access to any of our properties, all Shooters, Non-shooters and Bow Hunters require current membership of one of the following:

For each non-hunter attending any of our properties, it is compulsory to be covered by current comprehensive public liability insurance. This is a non-negotiable requirement and forms part of your booking contract. Similar to having travel insurance to go on holidays. This insurance is available by being a current member of an AHO, the SSAA or the Shooters Union before your booking is approved.
We also recommend current ambulance cover.
You enter these properties fully aware of the risks involved and do so at your own risk.

Risk assessments must be taken for potential hazards whilst using any bikes, quads/ATV or buggy's on the property.
Some properties only allow certain types of vehicles. Please check listing carefully.
Helmet and protective gear to be worn whenever operating these vehicles.
We recommend the Yassi Course or some form of accredited training be taken prior to using any bikes, quads/ATV or buggy’s on the property.
Bikes, buggy’s and Quads/ATV are to be taken onto properties entirely at your own risk.
No responsibility will be taken. Assess your own insurance for these recreational vehicles.
You release and indemnify IHP and all related parties against any claim of any kind whatsoever.
