Mitchell is a town and locality in the Western Downs district of the Maranoa Region, in Queensland.
The town is located on the Warrego Highway, 587 Km west of Brisbane and 176 Km east of Charleville.
The Maranoa River flows around the northern and eastern sides of the town before flowing into the Balonne River.
In town, you can top up with fuel, ammo, groceries, hardware, and alcohol. The town also has a tyre shop, bakery, hotels and a pool/spa.
Fuel is available in Mitchell from 8.30am - 5pm. Groceries are available until 7pm.
Mitchell 8 Hunting property is located approx 85Kms from Mitchell and 60kms from Injune. The property is gently undulating countryside with access and travel around the property preferably by four wheel drive.
Camping is available only at the designated site.
There is no mobile phone reception at all on the property.
There is plenty of firewood for your fire so feel free to collect yourself. The property owner asks campfires only to be lit within campsite area.
You will need to bring all your own equipment, camping gear - everything. Nothing is included.
Average daytime temperatures are 35 - 40 degrees in the summer and 20 - 30 degrees in the winter.
The property is available to be booked all throughout the year.
The property owner hates rubbish being left around - so as on all our properties we ask you to take all your rubbish with you.
As a rule of the land - always leave gates as you find them. We cannot stress this enough.

The property owner is also looking into getting a gas BBQ for veranda but may not be available when you book.
We had a great time, shot a couple of pigs and saw a few mobs but were a little too slow.

For each non-hunter attending any of our properties, it is compulsory to be covered by current comprehensive public liability insurance. This is a non-negotiable requirement and forms part of your booking contract. Similar to having travel insurance to go on holidays. This insurance is available by being a current member of an AHO, the SSAA or the Shooters Union before your booking is approved.
We also recommend current ambulance cover.
You enter these properties fully aware of the risks involved and do so at your own risk.

Risk assessments must be taken for potential hazards whilst using any bikes, quads/ATV or buggy's on the property.
Some properties only allow certain types of vehicles. Please check listing carefully.
Helmet and protective gear to be worn whenever operating these vehicles.
We recommend the Yassi Course or some form of accredited training be taken prior to using any bikes, quads/ATV or buggy’s on the property.
Bikes, buggy’s and Quads/ATV are to be taken onto properties entirely at your own risk.
No responsibility will be taken. Assess your own insurance for these recreational vehicles.
You release and indemnify IHP and all related parties against any claim of any kind whatsoever.
